The legalisation of documents is the process of authenticating that a document has been issued in the UK. This is then further attested by the Tanzanian embassy to enable the document to be recognised in Algeria.
There are many documents that you can legalise to use in Tanzania. Examples of these documents include birth certificates, marriage certificates, educational certificates, etc. The list of document that can be legalised is extensive. An official in Tanzania will typically notify you of which documents will require legalisation.
Tanzania is not party to the Hague Convention: an agreement that abolishes the requirement to legalise UK public documents. This means that the Apostille stamp alone will not suffice as a method of authenticating a document. This means that UK documents will require Tanzania embassy legalisation to be recognised in Tanzania.
